Today he is awaiting transfer from the State police barracks here to finish the remainder of his sentence. Crafton, who lives on a small farm at Blocher, Jefferson County, was found with his wife hoeing a sweet potato patch when the officers picked him up for questioning. He said he was in trouble at Madfson and liquor was found in his possession, 20 years ago. He received a fine and six months sentence on the State Farm at Putnamville of which he thought he only served about 30 days.

VERA CRUZ, Mexico, June 16 (U. MAY ASK POLICE PENSION PROBE
Theo Dammeyer Announces Probable Study of Administration.
The Safety Board may ask for a review of the Police Pension Fund | administration, Theo Dammeyer, | Board president, said today. The action may result from a | technicality raised by the suggested | | einstatement of a policeman who | has been on pension for 19 years. Harry B. Irick, Pension Fund sec- | retary, said today that he would be | | glad to furnish the Board with any | information it requested. He termed | the reinstatement case “unique.” Pension Fund trustees asked reinstatement of John Hastings as a police officer. Mr. Hastings was retired Nov. 4, 1919, for physical dis- { ability and has been drawing $25 a | month ever since. Adolph Schreiber, Safety Board | attorney, expressed the opinion that if Mr. Hastings were reinstated, “he! | soon would be eligible to retire at $50 a month, since the 19 years | would count on his service record.”
