FRAZIER-LEMKE GASES RENEWED
Baltzell to Try Each ‘on Its Merits’; Finds Law Constitutional.
Attorneys for 17 Hoosier farmer debtors and mortgage holders today planned litigation in Federal Court on farm bankruptcy cases under the amended FrazierLemke Act. Federal Judge Robert C. Baltzell yesterday upheld the constitutionality of the amended act which extended the original three- -year moratorium on farm mortgage obligations and ordered reinstatement of bankruptcy proceedings. Judge Baltzell's ruling was made ! at a hearing on the petition of Floyd K. Crouse and Lucy Crouse, Clinton County formers, for reinstatement.
Traversing the Pacific on the third leg of an unprecedented 8600mile flight, this twin-motored, 14-ton “flying laboratory” landed at New Guinea yesterday afternoon. 'This photo shows the giant craft as it took off at San Diego, Cal., on the first hop. Four of the six vailant explorers aboard, bound in the interests of science, are, left to right: Capt. Richard Archbold, millionaire research associate in the American Museum of Natural History, who owns the plane; Flight Engineer Gerald Brown; Navigator Lewis Yancey, who navigated the first New YorkRome flight in 1929, and Radio Operator Ray Booth. The party will spend two years near Lake Habbema and Mt. Wilhelmina collecting and studying mammals, birds and plants for the museum.
