Fire F ighting Champions Put Out Blaze in Engine House

! The boys at No. 10 firehouse, Russell Ave. and Merrill St, went about their chores today with the distinct feeling they were being followed. An intramual fire broke out yesterday in a maintenance shed in the rear of their engine house and only their championship form at fire

fighting saved the house from possible serious damage.

No. 10 when the championship was won, had a chance to review his old company yesterday because he was in the vicinity when the fire broke out. This, today, was what he described as his considered opinion: “Old No. 10 is still one of the best companies going. The boys went into it in the old style. They had the fire under control before I could drive six blocks.” Clarence Mainena, 1249 Burdsall Parkway, department tinner, was slightly injured. He and Peter Gallagher, department carpenter, were in the maintenance room when the fire broke out.
