When a girl graduates, she takes the cake. And this is how you make

it. Sweet Girl Graduate Cake

Four egg whites, 3 cups sifted cake flour, 3 teaspoons combination baking powder, 4 teaspoon salt, 14 cup butter or other shortening, 11% cups sugar, 1 cup milk, 2 teaspoon lemon extract, 4 egg whites stiffly beaten. Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder and salt, and sift together three times. Cream butter thoroughly, add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. Add flour alternately with milk, a small amount at a time, beating after each addition until smooth. Add lemon extract. Fold in egg | whites quickly and thoroughly. Bake in two greased 9-inch layer pans in moderate oven (375 degrees F.) for 25 to 30 minutes, Spread luscious lemon frosting between layers and on top and sides of cake. Decorate top of cake with
