There is no reason to suppose that meat in the summer diet tends to make the heat more oppressive, and every reason to believe that meat does not raise blood pressure in normal persons. Dr. Vilhjalmur Stefansson, Arctic explorer who during his life has eaten nothing but meat for a period of five years, so informed the annual spring graduate educational sessions at Indiana University Medical Center today. The sessions, sponsored by the Indiana State Medical Association and the U. S. Army Medical Corps, conmainly of technical clinics, punctuated by general sessions such as the one Dr. Stefansson addressed. He will speak again tonight at Shortridge High School at a session to which the lay public is invited. Dr. Stefansson told the physicians that his experiments had proved that the normal man could live without harmful effects on an entirely meat diet or on an entirely vegetable diet.
