in Colorado and stopped on the railroad tracks. The locomotive is shown dumped upside down into the Arkansas River. The rest of the train stayed on the track and all passengers were unhurt, but the engineer was killed and the fireman badly burned.
When a lot of locomotive meets a lot of rock, it’s Just too bad for the locomctive. Here's what happened when a Denver and Rio Grande Western passenger train smacked into a 40-ton boulder that had roared down the side of the famed Royal Gorge

a regional office for settlement of income tax disputes. Plans for establishment of 12 rejonal offices to handle protested assessments were disclosed yesterday by the Treasury Department. Department approva followed a successful experiment in Los Angeles, it was announced. Under the present. system, all appeals from Federal tax assessments must be carried through the Internal Revenue Commission and the U. S. Board of Tax Appeals, both in Washington. The new system, it is claimed, would speed settlement of tax disputes and eliminate the necessity and expense of bringing taxpayers to Washington for hearings before the Commission. Offices of the new bureau probably will be located in the Federal Building.

PLAN TO PIPE GAS TO IRON AREA DEFENDED
Times Special WASHINGTON, May 15.—Frank W. Murphy, Minneapolis lawyer who is seeking a $52,000,000 RFC loan to build a pipeline for gas from Wyoming and Montana to the iron areas of Minnesota, said today that his scheme would help rather than harm existing steel production centers. It “isn’t at all the intention,” he said, to use the Western gas for fuel in steelmaking. The idea, he explained, is to provide cheap fuel for “beneficiating” great quantities of low-grade ore and thus making
it profitable for sale to the steel manufacturers. He added that the proposed RFC loan, which he discussed recently with President Roosevelt, would mean an order to steel mills for 3200 miles of 16-inch pipe, enough to provide a double line from the gas field to the iron ranges.
