Zoning Board Approves Plans for Construction On Raymond St.
Work is to start immediately on a $500,000 fertilizer plant at 1850 W Raymond St, C. F. Burroughs, F 8. Guano Co. president, announced today, Final approval of the construc tion plans was given by the Zoning Board at a special meeting yester day afternoon, About 400 men will be employed at the plant, Jackiel Joseph, come pany attorney, said, A $2,000,000 acid plant may be constructed here later, Mr, Burroughs said. Other petitions granted by the board yesterday include a variance request of the General Outdoor Ad-
vertising Co. to construct a bill board at the southeast corner of Meridian and 37th Sts, and a re-
quest of the Hoosier Auto Parts Co, to operate a salvage storage and junk business at 828 N. Missouri St, The board also granted the request of M. N. Thayer to convert an existing dwelling into a four-family apartment at 1847 W. Washington St. and a temporary permit was is sued to T. C, Johnson to operate a pecond-hand clothing business at 340 W. 20th St The board refused to grant a vari ance request of Robert M. Copeland to operate a golf driving range at 5824 E. Tenth St. Residents of that area told the board that it would lower the value of their property and create a nuisance.
