all city churches had been urged today by Alvin T. Coate in a speech before the Church Feceration of Indianapolis. He warned pastors and laymen that “there can be no isolationist theory in Christianity.” Mr. Coate was one of four speakers who discussed vital church policies last night at the 26th annual meeting of the Federation at the Second Presbyterian Church. Pastors and lay representatives of about 115 Indianapolis and Marion County churches attended. Eugene C. Foster, who presided at the meeting, was re-elected president. Re-elected honorary vice presidents were ¥. L. Day, H. H. Fout, W. C. Hartinger, G. I. Hoover, H. B. Hostetter, Clive McGuire, T. J. Parsons and R. H. Mueller,

Urges Christian Unity

“All Christian groups must join in this hour while some foreign governments are trying to repress religion,” said the Rev. U. S. Clutton, Tuxedo Park Baptist Church pastor. “Every man, no matter what his denomination, must co-operate so that Christ may have a chance to

solve the problems of today,” the |

Rev. Mr. Clutton said. Dr. Evans, Federation executive

secretary, submitted the annual re- | port of the executive committee to |

the delegates.

The report asked for “closer cor-

campaign for relief of Chinese as an example of the problems the church must meet. He said last night's meeting “is the best response we ever have had to the Federation's purposes.”

Jewish Work Praised

A resolution commending Jewish welfare groups for work in Palestine was approved by the Federation. The Federation's constitution is

appointed soon. Revision was voted last night following a charge made by Dr. Evans that “the constitution is archaic.”
