Traders Await Presi-| dent’s Monopoly Message.
NEW YORK, April 27 (U. P.).—1 Profit-taking came into the stock market today and reduced eaply gains that ranged to more than 2 points. Volume was light. Steels, early leaders, sagged to levels fractionally above the previous close. Their early gains
receded, but held small advances. Profit-taking reduced prices in other sections, However, there was no pressure and traders resumed their attitude of waiting for delivery = = President’s monopoly mes-

Light Receipts Aid Recovery Ot Local Hogs
Substantial curtailment of hog supplies locally and at most points today resulted in some recovery from earlier losses, according to the Bureau of Agricultural Economics. Weights scaling above 160 pounds here were from 10 to 25 cents higher, although lightweights and pigs held only steady. A top of $8.40 was paid for most good .and choice 200-210-pound
throughout the weight list failing to catch anything in the top weight group. Packing sows were boosted mostly 15 cents and*more,in spots. Bulk of the good medium and heavyweight sows made $7.15 to $7.50, with lightweight butcher types up to $17.75. Several outside buyers were in the local market for most all classes of cattle and the trade ruled more active and fully steady, with some strong sales in the heifer division. The stocker and feeder movement also picked up slightly but prices of both fat and thin cattle are still materially under the high time last week. Around 15 loads of steers sold today from $7.85 to $8.65, a short load of good to choice mediumweights $9.25. Several loads of heifers cashed at $8 to $8.50, good mixed yearlings $8.75. Vealers went un-
buyers took a load of good quality around 750-pound yearling feeding steers at $8, other replacements going from $7 to $7.75. Less than 200 lambs showed up for the trade here and no accurate test of values was possible. Odd lots. and individual head of shorn lambs at $7 to $7.50 looked about
