RITES ARRANGED TOMORROW FOR CHARLES PORTER
Michael B. Corriden to Be Buried at Logansport Tomorrow.
Charles R. Porter, Indianapolis photographer and owner of Porter National Studio, 312 Illinois Building, who died last night at his home, 2941 N. Talbott St. after an illness of 10 days, is to be buried at Memorial Park Cemetery following funeral services at 2 p. m. tomorrow at Montgomery Funeral Home. He was 64. Mr. Porter, who was born at McComb, O., had lived in Indianapolis 30 years. He was a member of the Masonic order, Scottish Rite and Presbyterian Church. Survivors are the wife, Mrs. Verda Reed Porter; Son, Charles Porter; three daughters, Mrs. Lillian Kane, Mrs. Margaret, Burkhart and Miss Ruth Porter; four grandchildren, all of Indianapolis, and brother, Calvin Porter of Australia.
MICHAEL B. CORRIDEN, 5345 E. Washington St., former Pennsylvania Railroad official at Logansport, who died yesterday at St. Vincent’s Hospital after a long illness, is to be buried at Logansport following funeral services there at S a. m. tomorrow. He was 72. Mr. Corriden was the father of Mrs. Frank McHale, wife of the Democratic national commitfeeman from Indiana, and John M. Corriden, coach of the Chicago Cubs baseball team and former coach and manager of the Indianapolis Indians. Mr. Corriden was a native of Logansport and had lived in Indianapolis the iast six years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Elks. Survivors besides Mrs. McHale and John Corriden are the wife, Mrs. Mellie Sullivan Corriden; two other sons, Harry, Dallas, Tex., and Donald, Indianapolis; another daughter, Mrs. Harold Behrman, Indianapolis, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Hager. :
JOHN D. FINLEY, 1405 N. Tibbs Ave, who died at City Hospital Saturday from burns received in a kerosene explosion at his home, 1405 N. Tibbs Ave., was to be buried at Washington Park Cemetery following funeral services at 2 p. m. today at Wald Funeral Home. He was 77. A daughter, Mrs. Goldie Rufli, survives him.
MRS. SARAH JERVIS PRICE, widow of William J. Price, Civil War veteran, who died yesterday after a long illness, is to be buried at Crown Hill following funeral services at 3:45 p. m. tomorrow at Flanner & Buchanan Mortuary. She was 78. Mrs. Price was born in England and came to the United States when she was 21 to a brother. Here she met Mr. Price and was married to him.. Mr. Price, who died three years ago, established the first . Christian mission at Youngstown, O. He was a minister and lecturer and fought under Gen. Robert E. Lee and “Stonewall” Jackson during the Civil War.

MRS. MARIETTA L. MILLER, pioneer Marion County resident, who died Saturday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. O. E. McDaniels, Chillicothe, O., was to be buried at Crown Hill following funeral services at 2 p. m. today. She was 86. Mrs. Miller was born in Wayne Township and lived there until a few years ago. She was a member of the Old Union Church, which later became the Clermont Christian Church, and the Brownsburg Order of Eastern Star. Survivors besides Mrs. McDaniels are two sons, Dr. Chester Miller, Plainfield, and Harry H. Miller, Indianapolis, and another daughter, Mrs. B. W. Henderson, Portland, Ore. THOMAS H. KEITH, 3519 N. Illnois St., retired railroad worker, who died yesterday at Methodist Hospital, is to be buried at Bunker Hill, Ill, following funeral services at Pp. m. tonight at Flanner & Buchanan mortuary. He was 75. Mr. Keith was born at Charleston, Ill, and lived at Mattoon, Ill., before coming to Indianapolis 13 years ago. He was a Big Four Railroad conductor 38 years. Mrs. Emma E. Keith, the wife, is the only survivor.
HARLEY Park Ave. Indiana Bell Telephone Co. general buildings and supplies supervisor, is to be buried at Bedford following funeral services at 7:30 o'clock tonight at the Shirley Brothers’ Mortuary and at 9 a. m. Wednesday at St. Vincent De Paul r Guthrie, who died last night at St. Vincent’s Hospital, was 49. He started in telephone work at Bedford, his birthplace, in 1906, and later was promoted to wire chief, manager and plant chief.
He was Home Telephone Co. general manager at Linton, then came to Indianapolis as office supervisor when the Indiana Bell was organized in 1920. Since then, he has served as division plant supervisor, acting district superintendent and supervisor, toll maintenance and district plant superintendent. He was a member of the SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mary Ellen Guthrie; a daughter, Mrs. Francis Riley; a son, George D. Guthrie, all of Indianapolis, and a brother, Arthur M. Guthrie, Bede ford.
J. RALPH BLOCHER, former assistant to John Hayes, private secretary to the late Senator Albert J. Beveridge, who died Saturday at his home at Baltimore, is to be buried at New Haven, Conn. following funeral services there tomorrow. He was 49 Mr. Blocher, former Indianapolis resident, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Blocher, 3006 Park Ave. He was born in Scottsburg and was graduated from Manual High School. FERTILIZER PLANT WORK BEGINS SOON
New Company to Employ 300 Persons Here.
Work is to begin next week on ground at Kentucky Ave. and W. Raymond St. preparatory to the construction of a new modern commercial fertilizer manufacturing plant, Plans for the new plant’ which will employ at least 300 persons, were announced Saturday by the F. S. Guano Co. of Norfolk, Va. The company acquired a nineacre site at-the Kentucky-Ave. address from Kingan & Co. The plarit. according to present plans, is expected to be in operation by Oct. 1. The local branch of the company will be the 15th manufacturing establishment of the company in the state. The fertilizer company operates in nine states.
