Dr. E. M. Amos Elected Treasurer at Annual State Convention.

Dr. M. R. Lohman, Ft. Wayne, today assumed his duties as new president of the indians Tuberculosis Association. Other officers elected as the Association’s 27th annual convention closed here yesterday were Woodson S. Carlisle, South Bend, first vice-

president; Dr. W. C. McFadden, Shelbyville, second’ vice-president; Mrs. John Gubbins, Muncie, secretary, and Dr. E. M. Amos, Indianapolis, treasurer. Executive committee members are Mrs. Tom Scott, Kokomo; Dr. James H. Stygall, Indianapolis; Donald Du Shane, Columbus; Mrs. William Gremelspacher, Logansport; Dr. Paul D. Crimm, Evansville; Dr. J. V. Pace, Rockville, and Dr. M. H. Draper, Ft. Wayne. Miss Maxine Biebesheimer, Ft. Wayne, was named president of the Indiana State Conference of Tuberculosis Secretaries.

Sims, New Albany, directors. - A resolution’ was adopted calling on the 1939 General Assembly to provide for a second state tuberculosis sanitorium. The resolution asked that the new sanitorium be located south of the National Road ¢ “for the reception of all types of tuberculosis cases.”

LOOSE MANHOLE LIDS INJURE TWO IN CITY

Loose manhole covers today had brought injuries to two persons as police began a check to determine whether other lids were loose. Erma Belle Hall, 10, student at

School 14, said a loose sewer cover at Williams and Oriental Sts. caused her to fall through. Her right leg was badly injured. Her mother, Mrs. Goldie Hall, of 1407 Williams St., took the child home. Mrs. Mildred Griffin, 32, of 327 W. 13th St., injured her right leg when she fell after stepping on a loose lid on W. 36th St., near Illinois St. She was taken home.

DR. HICKS NAMED TO MEDICAL BOARD

Dr. James M. Hicks, Huntington, today became a member of the State Board of Medical Registration and Examination, succeeding Dr. Leslie Sammon, Shelbyville, who died recently. Appointed by Governor Townsend, Dr. Hicks i8 to represent the homeopathic doctors on the board. His appointment was recommended by the Indiana Institute of Homeopathy, the Governor said.
