Ft. Wayne police said they had |

confessions to five robberies here since Jan. 1 from two youths, Ray Adams, 23, and Richard Price, 22, who said they lived in Indianapolis. A third youth, named by the two men as an accomplice, was captured in his home in the 900 block English Ave. He was held on $2000 bond on vagrancy -charges. The first two members of the alleged holdup gang were said to have fired a shot at a clerk in the Ft. Wayne grocery of Gerald Beatty, whom they robbed of $33.

Police Chase Auto State Police sighted the machine

'in which the two men fled in Whit-

ley County, and in the chase ran the bandit car into a ditch. " The officers fired four shots at the men as they leaped from the machine, wounding Adams in the right arm. Both men were captured and returned to Ft. Wayne. Under questioning there, they were said to have admitted the robberies of the A. & P. store at Division and Ray Sts. Saturday. A purse taken from Mrs. Virginia Mann of 2122 W. Minnesota St. a customer, was reported found in their possession. Meanwhile police here arrested a 27-year-old Negro an hour after he is alleged to have smashed the window of the Peoples Cleaners at 116 E. 13th St. and stolen clothing valued at more than $200. The man was identified by Mrs. Katherine Baker of 108 B. 13th St.
