"WPA OPENS SPRING EDUCATION SERIES
100 Teachers of District 3 Meet at Rockville.
The Indiana WPA spring series of one-day education division conferences began today when approxi-
-. mately 100 teachers of District 3
convened at Rockville. They were to discuss the aims and ‘purposes of adult and preschool edu-
cation and assist in solving practical problems that arise in connection with the teacher's daily work. Meetings scheduled are: District 2 conferences, headquarters at Ft. Wayne, at Muncie on Wednesday; District 4, headquarters at Franklin, Thursday; District 5, at Evansville, Friday. " Teachers in District No. 6, with headquarters in Indianapolis, are to convene here next Monday. It was announced that 1,178,035 persons either participated in or watched activities arranged and sponsored by the WPA recreation division during March.

Times Special WASHINGTON, April 18.—Presidential approval of $8760 for the Marion County Welfare Department to augment services of the regular staff of the Board of Children’s Guardian’s Home as a WPA project, ‘was announced today by Rep. William H. Larrabee.
