PATTERN
It’s practically guaranteed to make you look pretty as a picture. If your face is thin, that irregular square neckline will frame it beautifully. The puff sleeves widen your shoulders and the basque is drawn in by a black belt that makes your waistline look tiny, above the gently flaring skirt. And for sheer flattery, you simply can't beat the ultrafeminine charm of frills at the neck and sleeves. Pattern 8194 would look adorable in taffeta, with a froth of white at the throat and above the elbow. Taffeta is high in favor right now, too. This dress would also be charming in silk print with a demure, rather quaint pattern. For summer, by all means, make it in dotted Swiss, dimity or organdy. Pattern 8194 is designed for sizes 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20. Size 14 requires 37% yards of 39-inch material, and 12 yards ruching or ruffling. To obtain a pattern and step-by-step sewing instructions inclose 15 cents in coin together with the above pattern number and your size, your name and address, and mail to Pattern Editor, The Indianapolis Times, 214 W. Maryland St., Indianapolis. :
