Rune ANER Auk
: Amendments to Be Offered ~~ Council on April 18, Johnson Says.
-— —————
Two proposed amendments to the city smoke ordinance will be con- © gidered next week by the Indian- . gpolis Smoke Abatement League's poard of directors and presented to the City Council April 18, Roy O. Johnson, league counsel, said to-
day. “One member of the Council al-
ised he will sponsor the amendments,” Mr. Johnson said. One of the | league's proposals would enable any citizen to file an affidavit against an alleged violator and this would be followed up with a summens or, if necessary, & warrant. Cincinnati now uses this plan, Mr. Johnson said. The other proposed amendment would provide for the use of the «standard Ringelman chart” to supplement the work done with the umbroscope now used by the building department to measure smoke
density.
