ing. Mr. Atkins was elected a director in January, 1902, and the following year was named vice president of the association. In 1906 he ‘became treas- - My urer, serving in 4 that position until this “sar, when he resigned.” He contiriied, however, as a director. ~ Mr. Atkins also has been chairman of the industrial committee for two years. F ugitive Cat Is Object-of | Police ‘Search’

not have been mad, but which cer-:

tainly was not pleased, was the object today of what police described as a search. Little or nothing is known about the cat except that to Mrs. Sadie Kootz, who encountered it in her home at 1708 Arrow Ave, it looked pretty big and unhappy. She told police that when “she entered her’ bedroom yesterday to see: what was causing a disturbance, she found the animal. It had torn four sets of curtains to shreds, had upset, some of the furniture and had broken a mirror. .It had been wounded, she said, and gave evidence that it didn't like the way things were going. The cat jumped through a window and hasn’t been reported since Patrolman C. F. Meyers investigated.

After following a trail of blood,

from one second-floor room to another, Patrolman Meyers announced the following deductions: That the cat probably entered the home’ peacefully, although it may have been a little jumpy. ~ - That it saw its reflection in a mirror and, due to some sloppy thinking, believed ‘itself to be another cat. That the cat attacked itself and took a heavy blow from the mirror. That the cat from then on took the law into its own paws.
