REFORMED CONVICT GETS OLD JOB BACK
NEW “ORK, March 24 (U. P.)— Joseph J. Goldfarb, 60-year-old exconvict, who has been on “the straight--nd-narrow” for 20 years, got a new chance today to return
to his olc job as a “rubberneck” bus guide. ’ He hac worked at his trade for the last 10 years, but recently a new law made it necessary: for him to obtair a license. Police Commissioner Lewis J. Valentine refused to grant one because of his record, and Goldfarb was forced to go on relief with his 85-year-old father. So many protests followed that Commissioner «= Valentine agreed yesterda;” to reopen the case. Bus line officials said Goldfarb could have his job back as soon as he obtained his license.
