motorist complained of the condition of “no left turn” signs at 16th and Illinois Sts. Four persons were injured, one seriously, in: overnight accidents. . Robert Husson, 2001 Park Ave, one oF a number arrested on no left turn charges told Judge Charles J. Karabell that he was arrested detween 7:30 and 9 p. m. for turning leit from Illinois onto 16th St. He said it was impossible to see the hour markings on the sign. Judge Karabe]l witheld judgment.

Driver Gets 45 Days
Ed Frame, 32, of 315 Villa Ave. was fined $31 and sentenced to 45 days on the State Farm on a drunken driving charge. His driver's license was revoked for six months by Judge Karabell. Edsel Ballard, -8, of 1415 West View Drive, received a broken left shoulder and head lacerations when he ran into the side of a truck at Belmont Ave, and Howard St., police reported. Witnesses told police Edsel had been ‘easing a group of girls who chasec. the child into the street. Leo Goedeker, of 4817 W. Washington St., the driver, was not held. The boy was taken to City Hospital. Mrs. Minnie Kurz, 56, of 2005 Ruckl= St., passenger in a car driven by Wilfred Allen, of 1236 Olive St., sufered head injuries when their machine was struck from the rear by another car at Fairfield and College Aves.
Faulty Brakes Charged
Mr. Allen told police he had stopped for a traffic signal light at Fairficld Ave, when the car driven by Albert Staude, Rural Route 15, Box 746, crashed into his machine. Police charged Staude with having ‘no drivers: leerise and bad brakes. “Mrs Ivis-€.“Milbourn, 44, of 131

when ‘her car was overturned in a collision at E. Ninth and N. Pennsylvaria Sts. yesterday. She told police her machine was . struck by a car driven by Richard Harper, 47, of the Ambassador Hotel. Police held Harper on charges of drunken driving and intoxication. ‘Car. Lowe, 29, of 747 N. Sheffield Ave., was hurt when thrown from his motorcycle when it skidded as he attempted to avoid hitting a dog at Michigan St. and Euclid Ave. As the cycle skidded, it struck and killed the dog. Mr. Lowe was

Soon after the Seamans ‘mortgaged their, home to. modernize it in 1928, Mr, Seaman- lost; his job and ‘could not find, another. Mrs. Seaman, distracted, spent; ‘as much time as possible in: quilting to keep from worrying. Mr. Seaman, watching her cutting out blocks one: day, noticed that occasionally. the material slipped and tne blocks were. cut crooked.
Takes Up Hobby
He began to cut ‘the blocks himself. Instead of stretching the material over cardboard he stretched it over sandpaper. It didn't slip then. He became interested iH designs and arrangement of: colors, and drew a large number of designs. Soon he was preoccupied with his new hobby. Mrs. Seaman sewed and quilted.
