Service Rivals Add To Sports Program

ANNAPOLIS, Md, March 4 (U. P).——The Naval and Military academies will increase their athletic competition in future years under a program anounced today. From now on the service academy athletes will meet in 11 branches of sport instead of six. Newly added sports are swimming, gymnasium, tennis, soccer and golf. Traditional sports to be continued are football, baseball, - basketball, cross: country, lacrosse and track and field.

HARDWICK IS RETAINED

"ANNAPOLIS, March 4 (U.P.).— Lieut. Harry J. Hardwick has been retained as head coach of football at the Naval Academy, it was announced today. Commander Ward Davis, now in command of the Destroyer Dewey at San Pedro, Cal, will become graduate manager of athletics in June, succeeding Commander A. C. McFall.
