STUDY PARKING ~ ONSTATE ROADS | THROUGH CITIES

Commission Members to Get Engineers’ Report on Free Traffic Flow.

The State Highway Commission’s traffic bureau today was studying parking regulations on State road routes through cities and towns, in an effort to keep a free flow of traffic. Sommission Chairman Earl Crawford reported that when the Commission assumed charge of high-

way routes through cities under provisions of a 1937 act some changes were placed into effect. Double parking was prohibited.

“Surveys made in some cities in-|.

dicate that business and professional men, clerks and other employed in downtown areas, use the regular parking space along the streets for all-day ‘storage purposes,” he said. Bureau engineers are to report

. final findings to the Commission

following completion of the surveys. Indianapolis, under the new act, is the only city which retained control of State highway routes within its boundries.
