FARM WONEN GET-PLEA FOR WORLD TRADE
International - Co-operation And Stable Currency Asked i in Report. A resolution rent “in-
ternational economic co-operation as the best means pf removing the
“causes of conflict between nations”
was to be presented for adoption this afternoon to 1500 Indiana farm women. They are ‘meeting in the eighth annual Social and Educatipnal Conference of the Indiana Bureau, Inc, at the Claypool Hotel. The resolution commended: the Federal. Government “for its efforts to remove barriers and restrictions to international trade.” ~ “We urge continued effort to secure the stabilization of currencies throughout the world: by international agreement,” the resolution stated. . : ; 3 In ‘another resolution the farm women were to favor distribution of the “excessive balance” in the State General Fund “in a way’ that will eliminate property taxes.”
Farm Taxes Cited
“Farm property still bears an undue proportion of the tax load. The tax limitation bill with its provisions for better budget making. if properly carried out will liberalize the budget of the. Indiana farm home,” the. resolution stated. : . - Other resolutions, expected to be approved unanimously, urged Amer- - ican Farm Bureau Federation support of co-operative mewcine aad hospitalization; of pending Congressional . bills to require . labeling, standardizing and regulating of food and drugs;. and of rural electrification. . Earlier, Larry Brande. Indiana Farm Bureau . secretary-treasurer, warned farmers against “emasculating” the new farm bill by continuing “the foolish fight between. Re.publican farmers and Democratic . farmers” in putting the law into effect. Prices Reported Down
Farm prices are down to 19 points below the parity level, having dropped 20 points" since January,
, 1937, he declared. -
