TOMORROW

Broad Ripple at Manual. Crispus Attucks at Smithville. Lawrence at Silent Hoosiers. Marion at Tech. Franklin at Cathedral. Sacred Heart at Trafalgar.

All local prep fives except Tech roll into action tonight’ in the heaviest schedule of the city's basketball season. Nine local teams will

play nine different opponents, six of these games being booked for | foreign floors. Sharing local interest will be the Cathedral-Southport and Washing-ton-Noblesville games. For Cathedral, the Southport game represents the first of several brisk warmups for the state Catholic tournament the latter part of the month. Southport must attempt to pass Cathedral more or less in stride, for the Cardinals want to save most of their power to use against Ben Davis in a county rivalry battle tomorrow. Ben Davis took the first game this season and the Cardinals are out for revenge.

Shortridge at Lebanon

Two teams of about egual standing will mix at Lebanon when the Tigers entertain Shortridge. Coach Butch Nueman has put together a strong Bengal outfit which has more than an even chance to retaliate for the trouncing Shortridge administered to I.ebanon last season. The Blue Devils, improving as they near the season’s end, will find this game a strenuous test of their ability to keep going against top-flight opposition. Rivalries Feature State Card Tonight

Remnants of two great rivalries will be on view

state

Washington travels to Vincennes. Newcastle and Washington, both state champions in the near past, have sunken to low positions in Hoosier prep basketball. But supporters will glimpse former spiendor tonight for the Trojan and the Hatchets always play their best against Muncie and Vincennes. Central of South Bend faces tonight its hardest task of the season. The Bears must stop the big Elkhart Blue Blazers, a feat accomplished only by Warsaw this year. A victory — which seems improbable—would put the Central flag at the top of the Eastern NIHSC mast. Tuesday, Columbus jerked Greensburg down among the South Ceniral’'s “common people.” Tonight, Greencastle expects to do the same thing to the visiting Martinsville Artesians, who stand alone at the fore of the South Central, unbeaten in seven league games. A late arrival among the state's clite, the little Greencastle goal~stters recently whacked Jefferonville to definitely establish \hemselves as topnotchers.

SOLLY EPSTEIN DEAD Solly Epstein, former local ban:amweight boxer, is dead in Chicago of pneumonia, according to a telegram to local friends from Maxie Epstein, a brother.
