Stricken on Duty at Pumper Station.

John Stevens, 426 Concord : St. City fireman for 18 ‘years, died in City Hospital today an hour aiter he was stricken while on duty at Pumper Co. 23, Rader and 27th Sts. He was 50.

Mr. Stevens apparently suffered a heart attack. He was born in Indi-

XK anapolis and was appointed to the

, Fire Department in 1919. His wife, Mrs. Mary Stevens, survives him. Funeral arrangements |M were to be completed today.

WILLIAM W. VERT, last survivor of the LeRoy, Ill, post of G. A. R, who died Tuesday at Methodist Hospital, is to be buried in LeRoy Saturday following serv"jces at 8 p. m. tomorrow at his home, 3469 E. 25th St. He was 94.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles Parsley of Indianapolis and Mrs. Mae Arrowhead of Los Angeles: four sons, M. Harvey, Clarence, Mr. Jesse and Henry; 17 * grandchildren, 26 great-grandchil- | M Gren an and three great-great-grand-Mr. Vert was a member of Masonic Order, I. O. O. FP. Scottish Rite and the LeRoy Methodist Episcopal Church." He had lived with Mrs. Parsley since his wife’s death in 1915. JACK CLAGHORN, messenger boy who died yesterday in City Hospital of traffic accident injuries, is to be buried in Memorial Park Cemetery following services at 2 Pp. m. Saturday in Harry W. Moore Funeral Home. He was 17 and a senior in Warren Cenfral High School. * Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Claghorn, and his grandmother, Mrs. Prudence Claghorn.

MRS. ADDIE M’LAUGHLIN, who died of a heart ailment yesterday, is to be cremated following services “at the Flanner & Buchanan Mortuary at 2 p. m. Sunday Her husband, Josiah, died three months ago. A sister and several half-sisters survive.
