city the largest number of conveation visitors in any year, according to Henry T. Davis, bureau secre-tary-manager. He estimated that visitors spent about $6,000,000 here.
Eight Major Parleys Held Beside the science meetings in session this week, outstanding conventions this year included those "of the Federation of Music Clubs
and American Music Festival, the Associated Harvard Clubs, National Conference of Social Work, Kiwanis International, Young Deriocrats of America, Macedonian 20litical Organization of United Stetes and Canada and General Grand Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. The Indianapolis Convention and Publicity Bureau persuaded a number of groups which had not formerly met with the social workers and the A. A. A. S. to hold their meetings in Indianapolis at this time, In connection with the latter the bureau was successful in bringing here the American Mathemstics Society, Society of American Ma'hematicians and others which did not meet with the body at Atlantic City last year. There are 16 more sectional meetings here than at Atlantic City. The January food resulted not only in the biennial music convention and festival coming to Indianapolis, but also the Club Marsagers Association of America, transferred here from Louisville.

James Robb (left) and Walter Truman headed a Committee for Industrial Organization delegation which asked Governor Townsend to declare a moratorium on debts and to call 8 special session of the Legislature to consider relief problems brought on by the business recession. The Governor refused their request but asked them to report later on the extent of unemployment in the State. Mr. Robb is a,regional organizer for the Steel Workers Organizing Committee and Mr. Trumaneis Midwest district manager for the American Federation of Hosiery Workers. Both are officials of the Indianapolis Industrial Labor Council.
