Rail, Air and Bus Predicted]
Traffic managers of transportation services here today were looking
forward to a flow of holiday passengers
by rail, air and highway which
may soar to the “highest holiday traffic business in years,” they said.
Estimates of the increase over the,
1936 holiday traffic ranged from 10 to 20 per cent. An official of the Illinois Central Railway System, which serves Southern cities chiefly, said his company expected an increase of about 20 per cent. “We needed three extra coaches here yesterday for a special party and couldn't get them. The com-
pany is ‘snowed under’ with de-
mands for additional coaches,” he said. The New York Central Railway System anticipates a 20 per cent increase. A traffic manager. cited a “heavy student business,” which
he said was a “good barometer for
