. Music, Pageantry Head Programs Arranged for Services During Week
Elaborate Candlelight Processions and Traditional
Plays Included in
Events Scheduled
On Four Different Days.
Indianapolis churches tomorrow
begin their observance of Christmas
with traditional programs of music and pageantry. Many Protestant churches have arranged elaborate programs for tomorrow, with others
scheduled on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Sunday, Dec. 26.
Catholic churches are to hold their special services on Christmas Day.
Christmas Eve services are to be -Thousands are to attend the week-long ceremonies, with leading musicians, singers and dramatic groups participating in the programs. Several churches have arRanged colorful candlelight procesons.
The annual pageant sponsored by the Christian Men Builders’ Class ou Christian Church is to be nted at 9:30 a. m. Holiday music is to be sung. A Christmas vesper concert is to be presented by the First Friends Church, at 1241 N. Alabama St., at 4 p. m. Choir groups and the G-Clef Club will join in singing carols. A string quartet and men’s voice group are to round out the program of sacred music. Volunteers of America are to hold Christmas services at 7:30 p. m. in the chapel at 320 N. Illinois St. Choi~ and orchestra of Westminster Presbyterian Church, under direction of Mrs. Gertrude Foreman, are to offer carols and holiday anthems. A special Christmas music pros gram is .to be . presented at the Breakfast Club, in Wheeler City Rescue Mission, at 245 N. Delaware St, at 8 a. m. The breakfast is being sponsored by the Sahara Grotto Auxiliary’s welfare committee, Mrs. Jesse McClean, president, announced.
