RT 1 wy. Escape. Sond FE BRE i } PARIS, Dec. 10 (U. P.)—A trunk full of feminine garments fient for five women” has been found in the St. Cloud “murder villa,” police annéunced today as they mobilized their forces throughs out eastern France to track down tke suspected “master mind” of the murder syndicate and his blond accomplice. i With five murders, including that of Jean Dekoven, 22-year-old dancer, already confessed by Eugene Weidmann, German “trigger-man” of the gang, police believed more killings would be uncovered. Digging continued in the cellar and grounds of the villa and tomorrow the entire garden will be spaded up. _ Fear More Women Died Discovery of the clothes led police to fear that five women victims, in addition to Miss Dekoven, might have been lured from fashionable cafes and hotels of Paris to be robbed and murdered.
Weidmann confessed were men. The finding of half-burned photographs of two women and two children in the cellar of the villa strengthened the belief that there may have been more murders. | The first phase of the new inquiry will come when police tomorrow dig up the entire topsoil of the villa's half-acre garden. The second will be . the tracing of amorous personal advertisements in sexy weeklies which" devote pages to men and women seeking “love nest” companions. A typical advertisetient placed in Paris dailies on behalf of Weidmann read: . “Available, elegant man who could act as companion and conduct foreigners around Paris. Knows night clubs and night life. Can translate from English and German.”

LETTER CLANS |=
CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO DATES
‘| Roosevelt Turns Girls’ Case
Over to Justice Department.
WASHINGTON, Dec. 10 (U. P.)— “What's life to girls of 18 without boy friends?” an irate Detroit citizen asked President Roosevelt today. By that question: the New Deal immediately was confronted with a possible test case on the constitutionality of love, for a letter from the citizen charged that denial of courtship violates the constitutional right to “the pursuit of happiness.” Mr. Roosevelt referred the letter to the Justice Department, where the details of the case were revaled. Two girls, one 19 and the other 18, were sentenced to five years probation by Federal Judge Edward J. Moinet at Detroit in a ‘case that involved a $31 Government check. The judge imposed strict condi-
; tion of probation. During the five
years the girls are not to stay out after 10 p. m. Worse still, they can’t have any boy friends. . These prohibitions so stirred one citizen, who believes the right of a citizen to love is guaranteed by the Constitution, that he wrote a letter
to the President appealing for
tary service in Germany, has a long
criminal career. He has been in jail |"
in Germany and in Canada. During 1932 he was in the United States. After the murder of Miss Dekoven, Million tried to collect $500 ran‘som from her aunt and chaperone, Mrs. Ida Sackheim.
The known murder victims of the |
gang so far are only the five to
which Weidmann confessed. Besides Miss Dekoven, they were Arthur Frommer, a young Alsatian; Raymond Lesobre, real estate agent; Jean Couxym, a chauffeur, and Raymond Leblond, a - theatrical agent. Peel

Police ‘leaned more and more to 8 the theory that sex lure was the | chief weapon of the gang. The fugitives sought are Roger Million, 35, a gigolo skilled in crime, and Collette Tricot, described by police | > as a “vamp.” Accompanied by Jean Blane, a minor member of the gang, they eluded a police trap today at Nan- | tua, near the Swiss border, and were the objects of an intensive man- | hunt. Million has charm and suawity and | easily ingratiated himself with| women. He was an assiduous at-| tendant of tea dances. He was be- | lieved to have enticed the women to’). the villa, where Weidmann acted as killer and Collette the fence to dispose of jewels and traveler's checks. |i In the case of men victims, pope suspected Collette was used as In addition to the trunk, police found four valises filled with women’s ciothing marked “Janine,” “Caroline,” and “Josephine.” Authorities were becoming more convinced that they would uncover additional unconfessed crimes. ;

The gang would all be behind the bars, but for the French law forbidding arrests in domiciles before dawn. The three fugitives were traced to a hotel at Nantua, near the Swiss border, last night and the French Surete ordered a mobile brigade from Lyons to capture them. The brigade arrived before daybreak and waited for the trio. When . they failed to appear after several hours, police broke into their rooms and found them empty, except for abandoned luggage. 1 The gang was utterly unscrupulous in its methods and would do | “anything for money. Miss Dekoven, | their only known woman victim | met Weidmann in a hotel cocktail | lounge. In his confession, he said she was , fascinated by his “magnificent” eyes and accompanied him to the villa, where they spent several idyllic days before he strangled her for a few francs and $500 in travelers’ checks.
