BRITISH EDITOR ATTACKS SOVIE AIRMARK CLAIM £

Challenges Flight Figures i in Moscow-U. S. Trip Over North Pole..

By MAJ. AL WILLIAMS Times Aviation Writer NEW YORK, Dec. 10. — There's | been considerable buzzing in technical circles about the Russian last summer from Moscow to San Jacinto, Cal. A British aviation editor now challenges the Rus_gians -to produce ‘figures. that will ‘substantiate the claim that it was a nonstop performance. The Russians, however, have filed their data and their claim for, eal world’s nonstop distance record with the Federation Aeronautique Internationale, in Paris. And this ‘ elearing house of all official world’s . aviation records has allowed the claim and awarded the record. * Murmuring won’t upset that rul ing. The record will stand: unless ‘formal complaint or challénge officially filed by some other coun: try before this year ends,
