RED CROSS REPORTS | GAINS IN ROLL CALL 5
Support Is Yardstick of Civic Spirit, Brown Says.
Gains In American Red Cross memberships were reported today to the Indianapolis chapter, conductig its annual roll call. Several business organizations reported 100 per cent enrollment and others showed increases, Extent of Red Cross support is a yardstick of a community's willingness to support vital public enterprises, Arthur V. Brown, Indianapolis chapter terasurer, told volunteer workers at a meeting in the Indianapolis Athletic Club yesterday “New industries have been coming to our city to establish factories,” Mr. Brown said, “and I know that the men who head these industries are not interested in communities whose citizens are not willing to accept fully their civic responsibilities. “If campaigns like this one and others are neglected by the | public, people from the outside may get the impression that there is | something lacking in the spirit of Indianapolis.” Reporting 100 per cent enrollment were: Chicago & Northwestern Railroad: White, Wright & Boleman, Akron Surgical House, Inc.; Service Spring Co.; National Bituminous Coal Commission; Commerscial Investment Trust; Indianapolis Council, Boy Scouts of America, and Royal Typewriter Co.
