Round Table Discussion to Open Annual Institute This Afternoon,

Hoosier newspaper eaditors and publishers gathered at Butler Un versity today for the second annual press institute and short courses, sponsored by the untversity jou nalism department in co-operation with the Hoosier State Press Ase sociation | The editors were greeted by Prof, Russell J. Hammargren and Prot. Donald D. Burchard. The first session of the two-day program was to start at 2 p. m. with a round-table discussion of small | caily picture problems. Wray | Fleming, Hoosier Press Association president, was to speak on legisla- | tive problems affecting newspapers; | Mark Grey, Indianapolis Commer | cial, was to give a survey of legal | laws, and Paul Riddick, Lagrange, | was to speak on newspaper promonon George 8. Banquet to Be Heid

Roland Schmedel, North Manchester News-Journal, will aiscuss higher advertising rates. Members of Sigma Delta Chi, national honorary journalistic fraterofnity and Theta Sigma Phi. jourralistic society, will be active during the institute. WIFE OF DRUG FIRM HEAD TO ASK DECREE

RENO. Nev. Nov. 12 (U. PY) Seward Johnson, New Brunswick, N. J, pharmaceutical supply house executive, will be charged with “cruelty of a mental nature” when his wife, Mrs. Ruth Johnson, files suit for divorce here three weeks from now, her attorney, Hany Ab- | kinson, said today. | Mrs. Johnson has established resi- | dence at the Del Monte Duae Ranch. She is a sister-in-law of Mrs. Evangeline Brewster Johnson Stokowski, who reportedly has established residence in Boulder City, | Nev, to bring a divorce action] against Leopold Stokowski, symi- | phony orchestra leader. |

WOUND IS FATAL TO JUGOSLAVIAN CHIEF

BELGRADE, Jugosiavia, Nov. 12 (U. P).—Gen. Vojislav Tomich, | commander of the Belgrade garrison and alternate first regent for King Peter II, died last night, it was anncunced officially today. He shot himself Wednesday. In an earlier and premature announcement of his death an official bulletin said that Gen. Tomich ‘on his own demand and for reason of health was granted an exceptional vacation and thus was not active when he committed suicide.”

CHRYSLER PLANTS CLOSE DAY EARLY

DETROIT. Nov. 12 (U. P).— Chrysler Corp. closed its Detroit plants over the week-end today. one day earlier than usual, advising 50000 production workers to re- | turn on Monday Officials of the Plymouth, Dodge, | De Soto and Chiysler divisions made no statement. but the shutdown reportedly was occasioned by a slow reception of orders from | auto shows and dealers in various | parts of the country.
