The Nation of Miami Indians, recently to recover through mortgage foreand leasures, will have to induce Congress to enact special Jegislation if it is successful, tribe leaders learned today. The Government has ho supervision or interest in any of the land, located principally in Wabash County with small parcels in Grant and Miami Counties, John Collier, Commissioner of Indian Affairs at Washington, advised the tribe. He said that anv effort of the Indian group to obtain favorable action through his office would be wasted The land was deeded to the Miami Tribe in 1840 and an act of Congress which became operative Jan. 1, 1881, gave the Indians absolute title to all the land originally set aside, Mr, Collier pointed out.
