Expert Thinks Panthers Pack Too Much Power for Irish; Gives Buckeyes | Edge on I. U.

Predicts Triumph for Fordham Rams Over Boilermakers; Harvard Is His Choice Against Army; Sees Butler Victory.

WILLIAMSON EADERS of the national collegiate football parade, applying pressure as the season heads into its final weeks, appear almost certain to come through Saturday's gridiron warfare successfully. California should find the University of Washington a fairly easy opponent, and Baylor and Alabama should maintain their perfect records against Texas and Tulane, respectively. The Hoosier state's big three—Notre Dame, Purdue and Indiana, find themselves squarely in the center of the national spotlight, taking on three of the nation’s real powerhouses. Pittsburgh probably will pack too much power for Notre Dame, although a tie is possible, and Ohio State

appears to have the edge on Indiana, with a tie also a possibility. Purdue does not figure to stop the charge of Fordham'’s mighty Rams. In the East, Dartmouth apparently is in for a breather against Princeton, as is Yale against Brown. Harvard should beat the Army, with a tie possible, and the Navy figures to win from CqQlumbia. Big Ten competition should find Minnesota an easy victor over Towa and Michican over Chicago. Illinois may rise again to tie Northwestern, but it looks as if the Wildcats should win. Butler figures to win from Wabash and DePauw seems scheduled to win handily over Earlham. Other Indiana college predictions include Hanover over Franklin, St. Joseph's over Central Normal, Manchester over Albion (a possible tie), McKendree over Rose Poly (another possible tie). Ball State over Indiana State and Valparaiso over Evansville,
