When Federal Court reopens here Monday there will, of course, be | all the dignity which has marked its conduct in the past—a dignity which | Court attaches proudly say is as fine as in any court. But Federal Judge Robert C. Baltzell hasn't any idea of ever donning a black robe as many U. S. District judges do, and which Indiana
Directors and secretary-treasurers | of seven production credit associa- | tions of central and southern Indi- |
Supreme Court jurists recently revived as bench attire.
“No,” he said smilingly, “district judges in Indiana never have worn them. I guess it's because we're too democratic.” The Judge, however, said that “it certainly adds a fine touch when lawyers come in wearing morning coats—and some of them do here.” The coming session is expected to require about three weeks. Six criminal cases are scheduled to be tried before a jury. Trials are to include that on the joint indictment charging Joseph Yates and Robert Bennewitz, alias Edwards, with transporting $250,000 worth of alleged stolen jewelry from
director, said today.
Three industries—laundies, pump

month, according to the Employment Service charts. The businesses which normally
[have more employees on their payrolls during November include boots
and shoes; cigars and cigarets; fancy boxes; jewelry; knit goods; lamps and reflectors; lighting equipment: men’s furnishings; musical instruments; paper boxes; plated ware; pianos; shirts; signs and nov-

WOMAN TO BE FREED IN GABLE FRAUD CASE
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 29 (U. P.). —Mrs. Violet Wells Norton, the English housewife who was imprisoned for accusing Clark Gable of being the father of her child and asking money for the child's support, was expected to be freed today from the Orange County Jail. The U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals reversed Mrs. Norton's conviction on a charge of using the mails to defraud, on the grounds that there can be no fraud when neither party is aware of its existence. Mrs. Norton was sentenced to a year in jail. Her letter to the movie star was sent from Winnipeg, Canada, and the reversal of her sentence left her : SE free to return to her home there. aN SR. : It's
