STATE TO DEDICATE TEST LABORATORY
Governor Townsend state officials today were to dedicate Indiana's new $20,000 State Oil Inspection Laboratory, constructed under a law passed by the 1937 Legislature.

Gallagher has been elected vice president and director of the Public Service Co. of Indiana as executives took steps to separate the operations of that company and the Northern Indiana Power Co. Mr. Gallagher, a certified public accountant, has had many public utilities assignments. Recently he served the Continental Illinois National Bank & Trust Co, Chicago, as counsel in utility organization and management.

DRAFTING OF FARM RELIEF BILL BEGUN
Outlines Six Points.
WASHINGTON, Oct. 27 (U. P.).— The House Agriculture Committee met today to begin the drafting of farm legisiative program for the special session of Congress. The program was expected to include commodity surplus control and price stabilization provisions. Five to speed drafting of the program. Chairman Marvin Jones (D. Tex.), outlined a six-point program, which he thought should be included in the bill. He was confident that it would fall within limits specified by President Roosevelt iast week. The Senate Agriculture Committee, getting first-hand testimony on farm conditions from the “grass roots” during the recess period, also is expected to hasten its drafting work, Rep. Jones’ program was: 1. Revival of processing taxes to defray costs of the program, which may cost from $500,000,000 to $1,000,000,000 annually. 2. A permanent soil conservation program. Arthur B. Cronk, Stutz Motor Car Co. of America bankruptcy trustee, today asked Federal Court permission to build 100 more Pak-Age trucks, which he said would bring an income of approximately $10,000. The petition said there were

‘CORN PICKER RIPS CLOTHES FROM MAN
ROCHESTER, Oct. 27 (U. P.).— Clement Barun, 25, was recovering today from the embarrassment of having his clothes ripped off in a corn picker and from an arm injury received in the accident. He was operating the machine on a neighbor's farm. All his clothes were torn off except his shoes and socks. Several stiches were required to close the cut and several minutes were necessary to get more clothes.

NEAL SALARY SUIT VENUED TO SHELBY
Biemer Declares Fair Trial Impossible Here.
The State Welfare Department's suit to force the County to pay backsalary claims of Thomas L. Neal, Marion County Welfare director, today was venued to the Shelby
Circuit Court. Judge James A. Emmert is to hear the case. Chief Deputy County Auditor Fabian Biemer filed the petition for a change, charging that his office could not get a fair trial in Marion County. | The mandamus suit was filed several weeks ago in Superior Court 5 by the State Welfare Department and Atty. son. It asked that the County Auditor

The suit charged the County Auditor with failure to pay the claims after the State Welfare Department approved the payments. Mr. Biemer said he also has a claim for March salary from Mr. Baker. He said he desired to get the claims
straightened out before they are paid. Mr. Neal's salary is $4000 a year.
