DENVER, Oct. 12 (U. PJ). harles P. Howard, Indianapolis, International Typographical Union | president, charged today that the! ’ American Federation of Labor was | acting “with complete desperation” in its war against the rival Committee for Industrial Organization. Mr. Howard, who is C. I. O. secre- | tary, assailed the A. F. of L. con-| vention for voting the executive | council power to expel the ten rebel | unions and for attempting to] destroy the possibility of political or | governmental support for John L. Lewis. “So far as the action of the fed- | eration is concerned in regard to the C. I. O,, it will make no diiference whatever in our program,” Mr. Howard said. “The C. I. O. will continue its organizing campaign. It is meeting | with greater success every day be- | cause it is raising wages and that is | more effective than the A. F. of L.| wind-blowing. “The sentiment of the rank and] fite of workers in this country was | Indicated by the fact that the dele- | gates to the A. F. of L. convention | who are closest to the people refused | to vote on the expulsion issue. “It seems to me that the attitude of the federation officers is dictaved by desperation. President William Greeen 1s SO desperate that even his best friends cannot understand what he means.”
Mr. Howard said that Mr. Green's ofier for the rank and file rebel | unions to return to the A. F. of L. | would not be accepted by
a single nan because they knew that the
A. F. of L. unions would wreck them | In jurisdictional fights if they ie- | turned under such circumstances.

NATHANSON BROS. RENEW THEIR" OLD TIME POLICY OF UNDERSELLING
There are undoubtedly thousands of our customers who remember THE STORE WITHOUT A NAME as the leading UNDERSELLING STORE in the city. We think almost every person in Indianapolis and a large part of Indiana knows us (or at least has heard of us). Mindful of this tremendous following it is our plan to reestablish ourselves under the name of the TRADING POST. The public knows from experience that a sale by the Nathanson Bros. means a Bigger Saving to them . .. that’s why they came in ever-increasing numbers to our store in the past. Manufacturers eager to co-operate in order to give us a flying start for our opening sale, made exceptional concessions to us, that were nothing short of sensational, and in keeping with the policy of our new store—every dollar saved in buying will be turned over to our customers. CASH BUYING—QUICK TURNOVER—SMALL PROFITS —Nothing bought at regular prices—Nothing sold at regular prices—THAT’S THE IDEA! Hope to see you Wednesday morning at 9:30 o'clock when our doors open.
