. Judge Pro Tem. Edwin Smith today had postponed until Oct. 7 Municipal Court hearings of five _ persons ‘on. charges of keeping a gambling room at 134-138 S. Illinois St. and of 63 others charged with visiting the place. Frank Luzar, charged with per- . mitting gambling in a poolroom at 2037 W. 10th St., was fined $39 for keeping: a gambling room, resisting and permitting minors in the establishment. Ten persons charged with visiting were fined $5 each.

He: is to play “The Storm of the Alps,” his own compesition, and give an imitation of a Swiss zither on the piano. The Rev. and Mrs. W. H. Bauer, San Diego, accompanied him to Indianapolis.

State WPA Director John K. Jenmings today announced Federal approval of a state-wide WPA household demonstration project with an allotment of $293,936. i The project is designed to help citizens in household management and employment problems and to train household workers. Civic organizations are to sponsor the project, which is to extend over a sixmonth period. Classes are limited to two months.
EXTRADITION HEARING || FOR STEVENS TODAY |§
Federal Court Judge Robert Baltzell today was to hold an extradition hearing for Ray C. Stevens, indicted by a Federal jury at Grand Rapids, Mich, in connection with a bank holdup there last spring. Stevens was captured by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents at St. Vincent’s Hospital. :
