FILENE'S CONDITION GRAVE
PARIS, Sept. 24 (U. P.).—The condition of Edward A. Filene, Boston merchant who is confined to the American Hospital suffering from pneumonia, became grave today. Physicians said that his condition was “most serious.” .

Patrolman .George Martin saw the incident and when the investigation was over and Mr. Eckhard was taken to City Hospital for treatment, Mrs. Kershner offered to give the officer a ride to police station. Patrolman Martin noticed she had to run the car into the curb to stop it, so he thanked her for the lift and then arrested her on charges of having faulty brakes and no driver's license. :
