Social Events Will Play Big Part In Meet This Month.
Reservations are rapidly being made for social events to take place during the 22d triennial assembly, General Grand Chapter, Order of the Eeastern Star, to be held here " Sept. 24-29. More than 10,000 delegates from this and foreign countries, islands and territories are expected to attend sessions to be held in the Cadle Tabernacle, -according to Harry E. Emmons, general chairman. Besides luncheons and dinners on Friday which have been previously announced, a number of events are scheduled for the remainder of the week. : ' Maryland Grand Chapter is to meet in the Lincoln Hotel Travertine Room at 1 p. m. Saturday. Meeting at the same time is to be the Grand Secretaries’ Association in the Claypool Hotel Florentine Room and the Grand Treasurers’ Association in Claypool Parlor B.
Tea to Honor Leaders
A tea honoring past most worthy grand matrons and patrons is to follow at 4 p. m. in the Claypool Empire Room. Mrs. Anna W. Smalley, right worthy associate grand matron, is to be honored at a dinner in the Lincoln Hotel Parlor E. A concert at 7 p. m. by the Hoosier Choir in Cadle Tabernacle is to precede & program of introductions and greetings by City, State, and lodge officials. : General Grand Chapter officers of 1931-34 are to meet for retest Sunday morning. . Texas Grand Chapter is to meet in Claypool Parlor B. for a 1 o’clock luncheon. Mrs. Frances Haun, worthy grand matron; william A. Duvall, worthy grand patron, and Mrs. Agnes L. Campbell, worthy grand matron, Supreme Grand Chapter of Scotland, are to be honored at a 5 pt m. tea in the Claypool Empire Room.
Organ Recital Arranged
An organ recital at 9 p. m. Monday by Theodore C. Lewis, worthy grand organist, is to be followed by welcomes and reports. Michigan Grand Chapter is to meet at 1 p. m. in the Claypool Florentine Room for luncheon. Tennessee Grand Chapter, at 6 p. m. in the Claypool Riley Room, is to conclude the day's social calendar. Florida Grand Chapter is to meet in the Lincoln Hotel Tuesday for breakfast. Luncheon is to be served members of the Canal Zone degree team in the Severin. Mrs. Rose Malcolm is chairman of the Hoosier banquet to be served at 7 p. m. in the Scottish Rite Cathedral in honor of delegates. Reservations for the event are to be made with Mrs. Daisy M. Crist or Mr. Emmons. Oregon Grand Chapter is to meet at the Severin for breakfast. Of - ficers are to be elected at 10 a. m. and installed at 8 p. m. Montana Grand Chapter is to dine at 6 p. m. in the Lincoln Hotel Travertine Room. Indiana’s grand finale, a Montana “roundup” in the Lincoln Travertine Room, is to conclude convention activities.

Delaware St. Miss Charlene Winters and Clifford K. Robbins were married Aug. 29, 1936, in Greenfield with the Rev. ‘PF. R. Hill officiating. Mrs. Robbins is a daughter of Mrs. Ada V. Fall activities at the Hoosier Athletic Club are to begin this week, according to announcement today by Frank P. Huse, president. Listed on the autumn program are the new gymnasium term, dance classes, club dances, the Woman's Guild Fall Frolic and parties by the Club Boosters. Plans are being formulated by the guild for the season. New officers who took office this month are Mrs. Leo Steffen, president; Mrs. Huse, vice president; Mrs. Robert Wallace, recording secretary; Mrs. Wilbur Thayer, corresponding secretary, and Mrs. Ellis Knowlton, treasurer. Members of the club’s softball team, which captured the Tuesday Night ‘League City Championship, are to be honored Sept. 22 at a banquet. Fall Frolic to Be Held At Camp Dellwood Oct. 30.
.The Girl Scouts’ Fall Frolic Saturday, Oct. 30, at Camp Dellwood is to begin the Indianapolis celebration of Girl Scout Week, Oct. 31 to Nov. 6, according to announcement today from headquarters. The program is to include folk dancing, crafts, games, story telling and movies. Girl Scout Sunday is to be observed next day. Many troops are planning to attead churches in a body dressed in\uniforms. Plans for the coming year are to be made at the Leaders’ Association meeting Tuesday, Oct. 5, ab Camp Dellwood. Besides the business meeting, a social program has been planned.
Leaders to Attend Courses
Troop leaders also are to atterrd the general fall training courses from the last of September until November. Mrs. Fritz Schaefer and Miss Dorothy Hande are to be instructors. The course is to outline the Girls Scout program emphasizing the patrol system, methods of teaching and testing Terlderfoot, Second Class and some First Class work; program planning, nature lore and woodcraft; simple hiking, singing, games and handicrafts. The outdoor activities course is to be offered during November on Thursdays at the Girl Scout Little House with Miss Jenny Lind as instructor. : Outdoor Sessions Urged
Methods of doing Girl Scout rank and badge work out-of-doors during troop meetings is to be emphasized. The course also is to include training in simple hiking. Tentative plans have been made for a craft shop at the Little House during the next three months for leaders and senior Scouts interested in metal work and chip carving. A first-aid class is to begin Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Girl Scout office for Scouts over 13 years of age. Also beginning on Oct. 9 is to be a home-nursing class at the Little House. Dates for horseback riding classes are to be ‘announced in October.

Governor Townsend is to issue a [proclamation making the week, Oct. 10-16, Parent-Teacher week, according to an announcement made yesterday at the board meeting of the Indiana Congress of Parents and
