Clemency Is Denied Father on Plea of Stealing for Children
A man who was sentenced to the Indiana State Penal Farm for stedling a tool and pawning it, he claimed, to buy Christmas presents for his children, was denied clemency today.
Stanley Lyle was sentenced in Marion County Criminal Court March 22 to serve nine months for petit larceny. Although his term will expire Oct. 10, his mother and brother and an attorney appeared before the State Clemency Commission today.
They told the Commission that Lyle was worried over the approach of Christmas last year because he
