SOUTH BEND, Ind. Sept. 10 (U. P.). — Elmer Layden, Notre Dame’s athletic director and head football coach, opened training for another “suicide football schedule” today with a squad of 124 candidates.
The ends and fullback jobs were expected to cause Layden considerable trouble. Losses in the line, while heavy, appeared fairly wel: sealed over by replacements from last year.
Butler - Students To Sell Tickets
Paul D. Hinkle, athletic director of Butler University and coach of the Bulldog football team, has announced the names of students who will act as salesmen in a campaign to sell season football books. The books will be sold downtown from Sept. 13 to Oct. 2. The season book will contain 10 tickets each good for admission to any of the five home football games and will sell for $4. The tickets may be used as the holder desires and will be good for games with Val-

Couple Quits Summer White House, Goes to Boston.
HYDE PARK, N. Y., Sept. 10 (U. P.).—John Roosevelt and Anne Lindsay Clark, pretty blond debutante, continued their romance in Boston today, after a merry “razzing” from the President and other members of his family forced them to “flee” the summer White House. Young Roosevelt and Miss Clark, who had come here to greet him on his return from a: European vacation, left by automobile. Boston is her home, and ,he is preparing for his last year in Harvard University at Cambridge. Meanwhile, the President and Mrs. Roosevelt eagerly awaited the visit of their third son, Franklin Jr, and his bride, the former Ethel du Pont. They come from New York City today where they will arrive from a European honeymoon tour. The President prepared the radio speech which he will make to the country ‘from Washington Sept. 17
