PORKER PRICES REMAIN STEADY IN LOCAL YARDS
Hog Top on Choice 210 to 225-Pound Weights Holds At $11.75.
Hog prices held steady for the second consecutive day, a run of around 1000 head being equal to trade requirements, according to the Bureau of Agricultural Economics,
U. S. Department of Agriculture. Sows were unchanged to bulk $10 to $10.50. Hog top was $11.75 on choice 210 to 225-pond weights. Current values were 60 to 90 cents lower than a week ago. Sows were 50 to 75 cents lower for the week. There was no quotable trade in cattle. Compared with last week strictly grain-fed steers, yearlings and heifers are strong to 25 cents higher. Bulls and vealers closed the weck on an unchanged level. Stockers and feeders cleared at steady rates, good to choice feeders going late at $9.40. Trading in sheep and lambs was

Copper shares rallied despite further recession in the price of copper metal. Kennecott and Anaconda g a i n e d fractionally. Silvers firmed slightly. New York Central led a recovery in the rails with a one-point gain. Smaller advances were noted in Atchison, Chesapeake & Ohio, Pennsylvania, Southern Pacific and Northern Pacific.
