By JAMES THRASHER “Dead End. Sidney gave the theater frankest, bitterest exciting pictures York tenement life. Samuel Goldwyn pulled punches when he brought it to the screen. Often a stage play the cutting room hedged strictions and box office jitters. The theater never could dream of anys thing so large as the movie public, and the picture industry can't take chances with its millions of patrons. Yet Mr. Goldwyn took the chance. The results are admirable. On a squalid dead-end street run= ning down to New York's Bast River we meet the parsons of the drama.
