Purdue Specialists to Take Part in Three-Day August Event.

| Times Special = | LAFAYETTE, July 30.—About 300 fieldmen, canners and inspectors are expected to attend the 10th annual Tomato Fieldmen’s School Aug. 4, 5 and 6 at Trafalgar, Johnson County, under direction of the Purdue Horticulture Department. Purdue specialists are to take part in the three-day training period. Roscoe Fraser, Purdue horticulturalist, is to open the meeting Wednes-

day. F.C. Gaylord of Purdue is another first-day speaker.

Friday's program is to include discussions on tomato diseases, insects and costs of tomato production, conducted by Mr. Davis and R. W. Samson, also of Purdue. 30 WOMEN ENROLL IN CANNING SCHOOL

Times Special LAFAYETTE, July 30.—About 30 Indiana women enrolled here this week in Purdue University’s second training institute for canning instructors. The institute 1s conducted by the WPA adult education vocational division through the co-operation of Purdue’s agricultural extension department. Edward Conner is in charge of the week's instruction, which started Monday and will end Saturday morning.
