HEAVIER HOGS GAIN 5 CENTS IN LOCAL TRADE
Light Receipts Advance Cattle and Lamb Prices.
Hog prices crept a little higher local market, according to the Bu-
S. Department of Agriculture. Weights above 160 pounds advanced 5 cents, top reaching $12.80 on choice 200 to 210 pound weights. Light lights and pigs were steady. Sows were generally steady while heavies were unevenly higher. Hog reecipts were 3000 head.
Vealer prices held unchanged and supplies promised to run in excess of early estimates. In a steady trade, good to choice vealers cashed at $9 to $9.50, medium mostly $7.50 to $8 and culls downward to $5.50.
The lightest Tuesday supply of
estimated at only 900 head, caused a reversal of bearish buying sentiment today and prices generally showed improvement.
All kiling classes ranged strong to 25 cents higher, steers and yearlings generally reflecting the maximum advance. There was a short load of choice yearling steers at $15.10, with other sales of fed offerings at $12 to $15. Light lamb supplies finally injected a little strength into the market and 25 cents higher spots were uncovered, although for the most part it was only a steady to strong trade, Good to choice lambs ranged largely from $3 to $9.50, a few choice odd head making $9.75. Comon to medium sorts bulked from $7 to $850. Slaughter ewes were steady at $3.50 down.

Liquidation of Accounts Carries Market Lower.
By United Press CHICAGO, July 20. —Liquidation of long accounts carried the price of wheat off 2 cents a bushel on the Chicago Board of Trade today before a rally erased part of the losses, At the end of the first hour wheat was 1% to 17% cents lower. Corn was % to 2's: cents lower, and oats were % to 1'% cents lower. Failure of the public to respond to overnight bullish developments brought out long liquidation which rapidly weakened the market, | Hedging sales were a further load for the market as professional trads ers made liberal offerings to do their bit in weakening the tone, Chicago was relatively weaker throughout the morning than other North American grain markets, | Wheat receipts were 323 cars. Old corn contracts weakened, July futures dipping more than 2 cents. Stop-loss selling orders were uncovered on the break and all | futures sagged heavily, Corn re= | ceipts were 28 cars,
