Canadian Prospects Decline in Week
By United Press CHICAGO, July 10~The tre= mendous increase in winter wheat marketings and the sharp decline in Canadian prospects marked active ity in wheat this week on the Chie cago Board of Trade. July wheat closed Friday at $1.22%, off 2 cents, The two sharply contrasting bits of grains news made an erratic mare ket during most of the week, wide fluctuations being daily occurrences with the change for the week rela« tively small. The first returns from the Southe west indicated that Oklahoma's yield will run 13,000,000 bushels greater than expected for a total wheat yield of around 61,656,000 bushels. At Kansas Clty it was ree ported that wheat marketing was running nearly 6,000,000 bushels ahead of this time last year. The Canadian developments have been bullish, one estimate placing Saskatchewan condition at only 23 per cent of normal, suggesting a crop for that province of only 50,« 000,000 bushels. Deterioration over a wide area was reported continuing at an alarming pace and the total yield for the dominion was placed at only 169,000,000 bushels by the Searle Grain Co. of Winnipeg. Old corn crop futures made littl® progress either way but Decembeg un beige ‘ corn showed strength. enh yor ar : 0 July new corn closed Friday ab 1 {tzerland { franc) . . : y $1. 28%, up 15% cents, and July old INVESTING CO.’s Y Bolland aaliir hos at SL%, wp 1% cents, .
