The six months’ report of the] ‘Community Fund, issued today, revealed an increase in all forms of services rendered 0 Dominant and homeless last winter. Fund officials pointed out the figure was an increase of 42,962 over the 93,516 meals furnished the year before. The report also showed that | = 50,881 lodgings were provided in comparison to 32,216 a year ago, Or an increase of 18,665.

The agencies providing these services included the Wheeler City Rescue Mission, Family Welfare | Society, Catholic Community Center, Jewish Family Service, Salvation Army, Indianapolis Travelers’ Aid Society, Volunteers of America and Theodora Home. The six months” service report is to be distributed throughout factories, department stores and office buildings as a “report” to some 40,000 employed persons who contributed to last fall's campaign. It also is to be sent to the 3000 volunteer campaign workers. The report says. in part: {This report covers six months of investments of the dollars you gave to meet the need last November. In every detail. it shows the soundness of your investment in meeting the actual needs of your community. “By thousands, weak babies and their mothers, growing boys and girls, little children, the homeless and destitute, the sick and the old people—join in this overwhelming cry of ‘Thanks to you.’ It.is your money that has backed the fight against the grim specters of epidemic, disease, poverty, desperation and death through your Community Fund.”
