By U iti Press MOSCOW, June 18. —The ertent of the current “purge” in Soviet Russia was emphasized today when the June 16 issue of the Minsk newspaper The Worker arrived here, containing a denunciation of 1170 persons (on charges ranging from | being enemies of the people to be- | ing “hostile elements.” Of those accused, 141 were classed as enemies of the people, which is| equivalent to arrest. It was revealed that 998 were expelled frgm the Communist Party for being| “hostile elements.” Thir-ty-one agitators were expelled from the party for spreading Trotskyist propaganda. The newspaper revealed that Minkin, head of the press department of the cgntral party committee at Minsk, hdd been cxposed as a Trotskyist. Those [denounced as enemies -of the people included 50 town and regional party committee members, 74 party [organizers and secretaries of party ¢ommittees, and 17 persons attached | to various governmental bodies.
