with the same hilarity that it might have greeted the premiere of a picure. Men, women and children were wedged 20-deep up to the church doors and stood there wait--ing for three hours. Members of the bridal party and hundreds of the 1000 invited guests were still tangled in the jam outside Wilshire Methodist Episcopal Church at the hour of the ceremony. It was an hour before the police iol squad of 200 brought them through. ‘Many were weary and soiled |by the pawing hands. Seated in the pews of those standing in attendance for the couple were Lupe Valez, Loretta Young, Joan Bennett, Ann Sothern, Mary Brian, Anita Louise, Irene Hervey, Mr. and ‘Mrs. Harold Lloyd, Glenda Farrell and many others of Hollywood’s list of celebrities.
Charles and Mary There
In a prominent pew were Mary Pickford and Charles (Buddy) Rogers, who plan to marry later this month in a private ceremony. The popping of camera flash bulbs ended at the church doors, and inside, the scene was decorous. A wide velvet ribbon stretched from the door to the altar, rose-covered trelleses were set up beside the altar and choir stalls, candelabra ° furnished the light, and rose-twined | candles flickered from every seventh pew. Miss MacDonald wore a flesh pink gown that accentuated her titian hair. All the way down the aisle here eyes never left her bridegroom, who waited beside his brother and best man, Robert Marlow, and the minister, the Rev. Wilsie Martin. Raymond was a solemn figure, in a shining shirt front, with white tie and tails. The bride was given away by her mother, Mrs. Anna MacDonald. Her attendants were Ginger Rogers, Fay Wray, Mrs. John Mack Brown and Mrs. Richard Hargreaves. The chimes rang out as the bridegroom's party marched to the altar, two by two. They were Harold Lloyd, Allan Jones, John Mack Brown, Basil Rathbone, Richard Hargreaves and Warren Rock.

sang “I Love You Truly” and *‘Perfect Love.” i It was a single ring ceremony. As the principals left the church in the final procession, the crowd burst through the roped-off police lines. Scores of the fans milled, cheering, about the bridal limousine. Police cleared a path for it and ‘the
fans gave chase, losing it only when |
the car shot down a side street.
The bride wore a diamond neck- |
