Of Travel
Several “Parents to See Graduates Given Degrees.
In colleges and. universities near and far, Indianapolis students soon will be packing their books and
. wardrobe trunks and saying au revoir to classmates until fall. Several early arrivals have joined their parents, but many students are finishing a round of activities before -classes are dismissed. Some are returning immediately to their homes; others are preparing for vacation trips. Hubert Hickam is expecting his daughter Barbara home from Vassar on Tuesday, Barbara is a sophomore. Two of her class mates, Misses Mary Louise Merrell and Harriet Jane Holmes, already have returned.
Clippingers to Visit in East
Mr. and Mrs. H. Foster Clippinger and their son Foster, a student at Dartmouth College, are to go to Cambridge, Mass., to see Peggy Anne Clippinger graduated on June 21. The family is to visit in.the East before returning to Indianapolis. Two months vacation in California is in store for Miss Mary Stewart Kurtz. She is’ to return Wednesday from | classes at Connecticut Colleg: for Women. Miss Kurtz and her
mother, Mrs. H. Stewart Kurtz, are
to*leave the following week for the West. Several Indianapolis girls are to “sail June 30 on the Normandie for a vacation abroad. Misses Maude and Virginia Balke, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Balke, are to finish their work at Smith. College June 15, and then prepare for their voyage. Also in the party will be Miss Marynett Hiatt, Indianapolis, a Vassar student. The Rev. and Mrs. George Arthur Frantz are expecting their daughter Barbara home. Wednesday from Mount Holyoke College at South Hadley, Mass. Another daughter, Sara, is to take a trip with her aunt and uncle, when she is through her work at Wilson College.

Robert Masters; Lewis Morrison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Morrison, and Dick Mertz, son of Dr. and s. H. O. Mertz, are-to be on their way as soon as their ciasses have concluded. Harley and Lewis are students at Purdue University; John is enrolled at Wesleyan University, and Dick attends Wabash College. Dr. and Mrs. George V. Underwood were to leave today for the East. They are to attend the graduation of their son, George Jr., from West Point on June 12. Their daughter, Jean, and their son’s fiancee, Miss Sarah Jane Millikan; Robert Rodehamel and Miss Kathleen Hall of Crawfordsville, also are to attend the exercises. Mr. and Mrs. John Morris Haines are to leave for the East next week to attend the graduation of their daughter Barbara from Connecticut College for Women, : Another daughter, Mary Stewart, is to motor to New York with Miss Ellen Rogers to attend the, graduation and spend a month in the East:
