By United Press N W YORK, June 2.—Faithful Mary, who gave up her job as No. 1 “angel” for Father ‘Divine and came back to “earth,” put the pudgy Negro “god” in a new light today. : For the first time, she .revealed that the cultileader maintained his various “heavens” and “subheavens” from the earnings of his followers, and that the “take,” as she expressed it, averaged $500 net a week while she was the chief collector. Faithflil Mary, fiashing a large ring afd a triple-string pearl necklace, told of Father Divine's financial = backing in Supreme Court as a witness for Verinda Brown, also a former follower of the Harlem “god,” who is suing him for $4000 she alleges she and her husband gave to him. Mary testified that when she was a member of the flock she was so busy collecting she had to have four secretaries named Victory Dove, Satisfied Love, Blessed Real and Bunch Love. The “big take,” she ‘said, usually was on Saturday and she handed the money to Father Divine in a candy box the following Monday. Later, she said, he found that she was keeping an account of the ‘transaction and that led to the “great division” between them.
